چکیده

The objective of this study was to develop a low-cost and eco-friendly adsorbent from agro-industrial waste for the removal hexavalent chromium in aqueous medium. (BMC) produced yellow mombin (Spondias L.) seeds characterized by determination chemical composition, thermal analysis (thermogravimetric (TG) differential (DTA)), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), pH suspension point zero charge (PZC). presence proteins, fats carbohydrates (15.690, 1.004, 73.706%, respectively) suggests that material can be promising adsorbent, given availability functional groups. following conditions were set: 2.0, mass 450 mg, equilibrium reached after 80 min. maximum adsorption capacity approximately 98%. Kinetic studies showed pseudo-second-order kinetic equation one best adjusted experimental data. Under investigated, Langmuir isotherm model described balance data, signaling monolayer. According results, it found BMC an outstanding performance CrVI ions may become viable efficient alternative treatment industrial effluents containing trace elements.

Agricultural Waste as Adsorbent for Removal of Chromium (VI) from Aqueous Solution

Background & Aims of the Study: Since the chromium (VI) is a toxic, carcinogenic and non-biodegradable element and can accumulate in the tissues, the presence and release of this element through the effluents is associated with dangerous effects on life cycle. Thus, it should be removed from the effluents. In the present study, biosorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutio...

Phytosterols from Spondias mombin Linn with Antimycobacterial Activities.

The growing problems of tuberculosis have led to the search for new anti-Mtb agents from higher plants. The stem bark of Spondias mombin was evaluated for its in vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (H37Rv strain). Bioassay-guided fractionation of the methanol extract was carried out by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) on Silica gel (230-400 mesh) and purification was done using ...

Efficient removal of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solutions using autohydrolyzed Scots Pine (Pinus Sylvestris) sawdust as adsorbent

In this work, a low-cost lignocellulosic adsorbent with high biosorption capacity is proposed, suitable for the efficient removal of hexavalent chromium from water and wastewater media. The adsorbent was produced by autohydrolyzing Scots Pine (Pinus Sylvestris) sawdust. The effect of the autohydrolysis conditions, i.e., pretreatment time and temperature, on hexavalent chromium biosorption was i...
